Finishuary at Sew Easy!

What’s Finishuary you ask?
Finishuary is the chance to dig deep into your project pile, find and finish those projects that you were once excited about but for one reason or another got stalled along the way.
All you have to do is show us your UFO (UnFinished Object) on Facebook, Instagram, Ravelry or in store with a before/after photo so that we may cheer on your progress!
The best reason to participate?
Finished projects = clean slate (and maybe a reason to get more fabric or yarn)
But in case that’s not reason enough, at the end of Finishuary we will draw three random participants to each win a $50 gift card for Sew Easy!
The Nitty Gritty Details:
  • Finishuary starts February 1st and ends February 28th at midnight.
  • Draw will take place the first week of March 2018.
  • If posting on Facebook or Instagram please use the hashtag #SewEasyFinishuary so we can find your entry
  • Only one eligible entry per person, however you may finish and post as many projects as you like!

New at Sew Easy!

New from Pellon, we now have vinyl lining fabric! Light and flexible these are perfect for lining lunch or snack bags, a waterproof layer for a baby change pad or diaper bag. They’re 137cm/54″ wide and $6 per meter.

We’ve also brought in some new nylon fabrics for more technical uses. Rip stop nylon is now available in three colours, great for light jackets, camping items, bags and repairs. ($10/mt)  We also have breathable waterproof nylon that would make the perfect spring rain coat for you or a four legged companion. ($22/mt)  Last is a super heavy duty nylon fabric that’ll solve repair problems or make a durable equipment bag or cover. ($15/mt).

Many of you love sewing for the babies in your life, so we hope you’ll like our new collection of baby terry cloth. A low pile terry cloth, you see this used for onesies, hooded towels, baby washcloths, bibs, burp clothes, the sky’s the limit for baby accessories! It’s 80% cotton and 20% polyester, soft, absorbent and best of all for the busy parent you can just throw it in the washing machine and dryer. (137cm/54″ wide – $12/mt)

New for the crocheter or knitter is Lang Yarns Tosca Light, a blend of 50% wool and 50% acrylic.  They’re soft and colourful and you get 400mt on a ball so you have enough for a long scarf or cowl in one.  We’ve got five colours to start with but there will be more on the way! ($18 per ball)
We’ve been anticipating the arrival of Comfort Wolle Gala Degrade yarn since before Christmas, but it’s been so popular our supplier has been sold out! But it’s finally arrived and it’s ever so nice.  A blown yarn of 80% wool and 20% nylon it’s so light and airy despite being 500mt per ball it feels like almost nothing.  One ball makes any of the patterns you see to the right and our local BC designers Knox Mountain Knit Co. designed their free Wildwood Shawl pattern using this yarn. ($30 per ball)
Finally we have the long anticipated Premier Sweet Roll yarn! Long self striping colours, fun candy like colour combinations, and easy care 100% acrylic.  But they’re going fast, so if you want to have first crack at them you’ll have to hurry in! ($9 per ball)
