Meet Punky, the Sew Easy Mascot Monkey

Punky is going on a road trip around the Sunshine Coast for the next couple of months and we’re going to play a game of ‘Guess who got Punk’d!’

We’ll post photos of Punky exploring secret places on our Facebook page… guess correctly where he is and you’ll be entered into a weekly draw for Punky Stuff.

And hey, if you know where Punky is hanging out in this picture, have a guess!

May 10-12 is the ‘Festival of Quilts and Quilting Arts’, presented by the Sunshine Coast Quilters Guild, and Sew Easy will be there!

If you would like to enter your quilt(s) into the General or Judged Shows, visit the SC Quilters Guild Festival event page to download registration forms.

The festival will have workshops by Hilary Rice and Sharon Pederson, with one-day classes for $120 each, which includes a pass to the Quilt Show. There’s some great visual examples on the SC Quilters Guild web site.

Sew Easy will have a booth and we invite you to come by and say hello, and check out our quilting supplies and accessories. If you’re looking for something special, just let us know!

We have some classes for you!

Let’s Join Up & Knit in the Round

Ridiculously simple fingerless gloves are a? good starting project for circular knitting. One ball of yarn, one or two sets of needles and two classes with Sue?will have you knitting fingerless gloves like a pro. Must know basic knitting skills (knit? & purl). Pattern is included in class fee.

This class will be on Tuesday February 19th from Noon-2:30 OR 6:30pm – 9pm Fee – $20

?Let’s Add Cable Whimsy

Cables add so much interest and texture to knits and they are so easy to do. In this pattern, the cables make an owl design and you can do it too. You will make fingerless gloves and then decide how many of your knits should have an owl on them. One ball of yarn, one set of needles and two classes with Sue.?Done!

This class will be on Sunday March 3rd from 10am – Noon. Fee – $15.00

Cables for Sophistication

The addition of cables to a knitted garment is a feast for the eyes and a treat for the knitter as well. This cable is the easiest one you can learn and the design impact is mighty. Come knit a pair of fingerless gloves with a partial thumb and see if you can stop at one pair!

This class will be on Tuesday March 5th from noon – 2:30pm or 6:30 – 9. Fee – $15.00

?Felting Fun

There are choices and more choices of felted footwear to inspire your creativity. We will start with?”Duffers”, the simplest of all.???One class with Sue, two balls of yarn, one set of needles?and you are on your way to slipper heaven.

This class will be on Monday March 11th from 11:30am – 1:30pm or 6:30pm – 8:30pm. Fee – $10.00

My FIRST Quilt

Start with a simple pattern, some fabulous fabrics and a great teacher… add 6 classes and before you know it, you have your first quilt.

It’s step-by-step simple to acquire the basic skills needed to create beautiful quilts for your loved ones! Kits available or choose your own colours.

This class will be six Saturdays starting on March 2nd and ending April 6th from 1:30pm to 4pm. Fee is $80.00.

Let’s Knit Socks

Knitting socks can be ever so simple when you know how.?We’ll start with a basic pattern, teach you the tricks ?and get you knitting socks in those stolen moments of the day. Think ferry ride, ferry line-up, waiting room, T.V. car ride…Two balls of yarn, one set of needles, four classes with Sue.

This class will be four Wednesdays starting on February 27th and ending on March 20th from 10am – noon or 6pm – 8pm. Fee – $25.00

Sewing Basics

Knowing the basics makes sewing enjoyable and productive. In 5 classes with Jill you will learn the?maintenance of your machine, threads & needles basics, some good sewing habits,?as well as?make a buttonhole, put in a zipper, put up a hem. Time to start enjoying sewing!

This class will be five Saturdays starting on March 2nd and ending on March 30th. Fee – $75.00

?Sweater Knit-Along

How about a new sweater for Spring or Fall? Together we will knit cables, read charts, follow a pattern, block and sew pieces together and the final result will be a cabled cardigan for you to wear and enjoy. This project is a very satisfying knit that will start in February with Sue.

Our first date will be on Friday February 22nd from 6pm – 8pm. Further meeting dates will be set at this time. Fee – $20.00.

SPRING BREAK for MAKERS

Spring Break is a great time to try new things. This year at Sew Easy we are offering opportunities to try?SEWING, KNITTING , CROCHET,? NEEDLE FELTING – something wonderful.

Monday – Pillow Cases from 12:30pm – 3:30pm.

Tuesday – Needle Felting from 2:30pm – 4pm.

Wednesday – Wrist Warmers/ Fingerless Gloves (Knitting) from 12:30pm – 3pm.

Thursday – Sew a Tote Bag from 2:30pm – 3:30/4pm.

Friday – Crochet Wrist Warmers/ Phone Cover from 12:30pm – 3:30pm.

Fee – $15 each and includes supplies.

Want to learn to knit or crochet?

Drop in teaching, assistance and pattern/project help classes available on Thursdays 2:30pm to 4:30pm or Fridays 3pm until 5pm..cost is $12 per sessions (discounts for pre booked multiple sessions with class instructor).

No need to pre book, just drop in and enjoy!

Sundays are a knitting/crochet/ sewing drop in….no real instruction just alot of helpful advice and friendly atmosphere to work on your project!
